My Story
Hi, I'm Claire, owner of Olive a good walk!
My journey into professional dog walking began with my beloved rescue lurcher, Olive. After losing her in 2025, I found myself missing not only her companionship but also the weekend adventures and daily walks that we shared together. Walking without a dog by my side simply wasn't the same.
Having worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse from 2015 until April 2026, within both referral and primary care settings, I decided it was time for a new chapter that offered a better work-life balance while still allowing me to do what I love most – caring for animals.
Combining my professional experience with my passion for dogs and being active felt like the perfect fit, and that's how Olive a good walk! was born.
Over the years, I've cared for dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments, both professionally and as a dog owner myself, and I understand that every dog is an individual, with their own personality, routines and quirks.
That’s why I offer a free, no-obligation meet-and-greet session before any walks begin. This gives us all the opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your dog's specific needs, and ensure that everyone feels happy and comfortable.
I primarily cover West Newcastle and surrounding areas, including West Denton, Westerhope, Walbottle and Newburn, although I am happy to consider enquiries from other areas in and around Newcastle.
